We purchased a small farm in Virginia in the late ninety's and moved into our log cabin on the farm. Having been a flatlander most of my life in Illinois, getting used to the 'hills' and creeks, then learning what a 'Flash Flood' is all about; I developed a real appreciation for how important it is to have the proper tools. I grew up a Squid Kid (Navy brat), then when Dad got out we moved to Chicago, IL; Lived most of my life in or around Chicago.
We purchased the tractors that came with the farm and I learned how to handle (drive without rolling) and hang the implements onto the large tractor. I learned the 3 pt hitch with PTO quickly and appreciated all of the implements the previous owner sold with the tractor to include Finish and Rough cut mowers, Tiller, Back blade, Plow blade and a Double bottom plow.
One important piece was missing and that was a trailer that I could haul anywhere the tractor went; we have 20 acres, 11 acres in pasture, 7 in woods, 2 around the main house and a ½ acre pond. The driveway was ½ mile in from the main road, all gravel and heavy stone. Heavy rains moved the driveway, especially down by the creek and when we flooded we'd lose 50' to 150' feet of the driveway. It was then that the need for a small dump trailer was important. I looked at all the trailer dealers, farm supplies stores and on the web until I found a trailer well suited for my application, which was taking loads of gravel from a pile up by the barn to the damages areas of the driveway. Our neighbor lent us his loader and the trailer I purchased fit the need.
Because of this experience and watching all of our neighbors who had either ATVs or UTVs (most JD Gators) and wondering why not use those for the chores, again finding the implements was difficult, we started Keefe Truck . As both a distributor and a web retailer bringing Utility to the ATV, UTV and Small tractor marketplace; we want to provide value for the monies invested and not sell anything and have kept that as a primary principal in our business.
